Cyber Security – How secure is your data?
Cyber-crime cost the world more than half a trillion dollars last year and is estimated by Cybersecurity Ventures to cost the world $6 trillion annually by 2021. It is the greatest threat to every company around the globe.
More than half (53%) of all small to mid-sized businesses (SMB) have experienced a breach in cyber security. Twenty-nine percent say breaches cost less than $100,000 while 20% say costs range from $1million to $2.5 million according to Cisco’s Cybersecurity Special Report. Of all cyber-attacks, 54% result in financial damages of more than $500,000 USD, stemming from:
- Lost revenue
- Lost customers
- Lost opportunities
- Out of pocket expenses
Industries and businesses are becoming increasingly more interconnected and rely heavily on digital technology for daily business efficiencies.
With this increase in interconnectivity, cyber-attacks are escalating as well, while also becoming ever more difficult to detect through the sophisticated art of deception.
Max Heinemeyer, Director of Threat Hunting with Darktrace, states the greatest cybersecurity threat for businesses, governments, and non-profits are through their employees, either as deceived victims or disgruntled offenders.
The Better Business Bureau conducted a 2017 cyber security study among small businesses in North America where they asked “what cybersecurity measures do you have in place to safeguard your business” and only 20% of overall respondents answered they had ongoing monitoring/analysis of cybersecurity intelligence.
This is a staggering low number given the potential financial damages businesses face with cybersecurity threats.
Twenty-eight percent cited lack of resources as the top factor in hindering their organizations ability to advance cyber security efforts, with 27% stating expertise and knowledge as other important factors.
When asked how long their business could remain profitable if access to essential data was permanently lost; more than 50% of businesses responded they would be unprofitable in less than one month.
Darktrace – The world leader in cyber security.
Using artificial intelligence and machine learning to protect your cyber data and your business
“Modeled on the human immune system, Darktrace’s technology is the world’s leading, enterprise-grade artificial intelligence (AI), with thousands of customers worldwide”.
Darktrace is the most advanced technology for cyber defence, using unsupervised machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze network traffic and to understand what is ‘normal’ use for every user, device and subnet in your organization. The AI algorithms classify data, detect billions of patterns, and use probability-based calculations to identify, respond, and alert your organization to threats in real-time, preventing catastrophic loss to your business.
The director of Technology and Innovation with the City of Las Vegas, Michael Lee Sherwood, has implemented Darktrace as Las Vegas transitions into a smart city. Sherwood states there is “no other product available that provides the cyber security insights, ability to take-action, or allows you to pro-actively monitor and protect your business’ network. Capable of evolving and adapting as security needs change 24/7, 365 days a year, Darktrace provides a safe-guard from cyber intrusion”.
As protocol and technology agnostic, Darktrace passively self-learns and adapts to the environment into which it has been installed. The software is capable of detecting all forms of threats and vulnerabilities while also providing a unified view across OT, IT, and the Industrial Internet of Things. This helps you stay ahead of emerging threats and defend your key business systems.
Darktrace provides cyber security for:
- Enterprise: detects and classifies cyber-threats across your entire enterprise
- Industrial: 100% visibility and real-time threat detection for industrial networks
- Cloud: self-learning cyber AI in the cloud
- SaaS: extends self-learning cyber AI to SaaS
- Antigena: autonomous response to in-progress cyber-threats
- Output Connectors: integrating Darktrace into your existing infrastructure
Darktrace provides complete visibility across the digital business, while the platform understands what normal behavior is for your devices, then autonomously detects and responds to external attacks and insider threats in real time, protecting your assets.
