In a business landscape where internet connectivity is a necessity, reliability in uptimes, bandwidth, confidence in back up, and quality of service are essential to the success of your business.
As businesses move toward cloud computing and internet applications, increased bandwidth is required, and having a single service provider bringing internet access to your business could be catastrophic if there is an ISP outage.
There are two ways for faster internet connections, each with different results. These are:
Load Balancing and Broadband Bonding
Load Balancing:
When applications on a device are used, information to the internet travels via network sockets across all connections the devices are on, preventing overload of a single connection and increasing performance by:
- avoiding overload of a single internet connection
- optimizing connectivity
- maximizing bandwidth
- minimizing latency
Reliability is improved through multiple connections providing redundancy. This requires specific routers embedded with dedicated balancing software connected to at least 2 WAN internet connections.
Load balancing doesn’t improve speeds required for video streaming, VPN connections, and large file transfers.
Broadband Bonding:
Dedicated hardware and software optimize traffic into smaller portions of data, called network packets. Broadband bonding makes it possible to spread the network packets across multiple connections allowing large transfers such as VPN connections, video streaming, and file transfers to have more speed.
Both broadband bonding and load balancing increase available bandwidth, lower latency, and increase reliability for a better internet connection.
Wide area network (WAN) bonding and load balancing Solutions
As a Peplink certified gold partner, Rigstar helps clients get more from their WAN, bringing advanced WAN bonding solutions and SpeedFusion technology to give clients the speed and connectivity they need to support their business needs and supplement or replace costly multiprotocol label switching (MPLS). Peplink solutions provides reliable inter-connectivity between locations and/or remote areas with unbreakable branch networking, increased bandwidth and lower costs.
Load balancing across multiple internet services allows for cost effective redundancy, combining as many as thirteen different internet services including DSL, cable, 3G, 4G, LTE and VSAT. If any service has gone offline, the Peplink Balance multi-WAN router will detect, and automatically switch, to the available services. Peplink’s SpeedFusion bandwidth bonding technology, allows for high-speed uploads and downloads by aggregating the available bandwidth into one larger connection.
With aggregated bandwidth, remote staff can instantly access information on centralized servers, meaning mission critical business is never interrupted. Your business can extend WAN into company vehicles or in temporary locations without fixed line connectivity.
With a strong history in providing reliable, stable connectivity in any deployment scenario, Peplink devices are ideal for critical oil and gas, government, finance, communications, and emergency services infrastructure. VSAT backup and failover ensures remote areas have the internet connection your business can rely on.
Rigstar has engineered local area networks (LAN) in remote locations, providing cellular aggregation for reliable internet connectivity using Peplink solutions on more than 50 projects to deliver connectivity at speeds of 41/10 Mbps.
